The knitting group Saint Meow's Stitchers meets the first and third Saturday of each month at the Borders Bookstore Cafe in the CambridgeSide Galleria. The main focus of the group is to knit items for cats at Cambridge's Saint Meow's Hospital, a no-kill cat shelter, but all knitters are welcome, whether they're knitting for charity or not. The meetings correspond to adoption hours held by Saint Meow's across the street from the mall, at Petco.
The group runs from 11:00 a.m. "till whenever" (in the words of someone who posted about it on the Stitch 'n' Bitch-Boston group). The web site notes that the group leader has a tendency to be late, so if you don't see anyone there at 11:00, just grab a table and a beverage and start knitting.
If you don't want to attend the group, but want to contribute items for the cats, you can do that, too. You can get knitting patterns for cat stuff and info on what's currently needed and where to send it, plus other details about the knitting group on its web page.
