Ilene sent me this information about a spinning guild she belongs to:
South Shore Spinners Guild
The guild meets on the first Thursday of each month, from 7:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m., at the South Shore Nature Center on Jacobs Lane in Norwell, Mass.
During most of the year, meetings feature educational speakers and programs. During the summer, members get together just to spin and socialize. The group also holds workshops in special aspects of fiber arts. Members can use the guild’s lending library and equipment for rent. Membership dues are $15 per year.
If you’re looking for a spinning group closer to Boston, there is the Boston Area Spinners and Dyers. Also, Mind’s Eye Yarns in Porter Square, Cambridge, has a spinning group that meets every Thursday.
See the list of knitting and spinning groups in Massachusetts.

Barbara,
Since your comment was posted on an older entry, it's doubtful whether that many spinners would happen to see it.
I would recommend either:
- inquiring directly with one of the spinning groups mentioned in the post above.
- joining the Yahoo group New England Textile Arts and posting your inquiry there:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NewEnglandTextileArts/
- contacting Mind's Eye Yarns in Cambridge (617-354-7253 or lucy@mindseyeyarns.com). That's the only store I know of in the area that deals in spinning wheels.

As a new spinner in Boston, I am scouring the web for information and it is great you have all this in one place!
Thanks so much!
